A few thoughts to help you build a plan for next season...it'll be here before you know it!
Welcome to my first of many blogs. Be specific, Be thoughtful, Be Positive!
“Take a step back and think. Ask yourself, how will I get to my end goal.”
Hey Cricket Lovers
I hope this first “blog” finds you healthy and well on the positive road after the lockdown period.
It’s that time of year again. It’s come round awfully quick, but I’m sure there are plenty of people itching to get back into the nets, back into the gym and making some quick progress before next season.
Take a step back and think. Ask yourself, how will I get to my end goal? If it is hitting some lazy half volleys and bowling 10 overs a week for the next 20 weeks, it might be time to make a slightly different plan.
From what I have experienced over a few winters it is that specific high-quality training with a plan is a lot more beneficial if you want to make strides with your game.
Here’s some ideas for making a winter plan or goals • What do I want to improve? • What am my strengths and how can I improve them? • How am I going to improve my skills? • What is my footwork like when facing different bowlers? • Is my action repeatable and strong? If not, what needs to change?
Jot down some notes. Take your time and be honest with yourself. You can achieve a lot more over a short period of high-quality than lazy easy work over a long winter.
Be specific. Be thoughtful. Be positive.
